I'm sure somebody somewhere thought of this years ago...but I came up with it on my own unbeknownst to their invention. I hate boiling water. It ALWAYS boils over, and leaves that ugly charred line...see bottom element in picture. So I started putting my saucepan in a skillet so when it boils over the skillet catches it and the house doesn't fill with smoke and yucky smells. I'm a Genyish.
