Livin Updated

Ellie
~I told her "you're a silly goose" and she replies 'no, I a yie-yon' (lion)
~I've been called to work in the 'young yih-mens' program. Ellie comes with me to activities, because Matt is in scouts at the same time (Kaydo goes with him). She LOVES it.
~'a arh stes' pause for us to answer rrrrr 'rrrr dat's white. dood dob'
~A favorite is when she does something funny. Then immediately says 'I do ykie dis' and tries to repeat it.
~We got a new blender and we make 'muk-shakers' and 'orange-jewish' (milkshakes and orange julius)
~'I wan wah-ch sumtin' (I want to watch something) "Nope, not right now" 'when daddy dit home, we wah-ch sumtin wit daddy' (Matt has vowed to watch less with them because of this statement...which we've heard a few times)
~'I bech-ah we ARE hun-ree' (I betcha we are hungry). Usually this is said right before bedtime or naptime or something else she doesn't want to do.
~Can jump...with both feet off the ground
~'I mate-in my hand paw print'
~"Ellie you need to eat lunch" 'No...I jus habin a bad day.' "You're having a bad day?" 'Yup. Yike Oopsie' (Oopsie is a carebear that had a lot of bad days)
~"Sorry sweetie, we're out of orange juice" 'I wan doe teh daddy boud it' (I want to go tell daddy about it)
~'Heh-OP heh-OP' (Help)
~'Mommy, paint my feener nay-ohs amerer afer naps. Das so nice of hear' (Mommy painted my finger [toe] nails tomorrow after naps. That's so nice of her)
~'Hi daddy. We not tsare wit tickers' (She called daddy to tell him she didn't share the stickers with Kaydo)
~Ellie still loves books. And when we read them we MUST read the title page. If we don't we have to go back. To her credit though, she knows the titles and authors of her favorite books.
~Likes to turn on the ipod and dance
~We got a kite. It is windy here. The kite was the last one, and it was on sale, and it is a silly looking little girl. But Ellie loves it and can fly it all by herself. While she was flying the crazy kite girl she hollers out 'hold on yittoh durl! we dot ya' (Hold on little girl, we gotcha) :)

Kayden
~Kayden loves the fly swatter. We pull it out of the closet and he starts laughing and pointing (pointing around the room like he's pointing out flys) and bounces up and down and laughs and points some more.
~Started to 'dance'
~At the playground he likes to bend down and pick up multch, just so he can brush off his hands (rub them together)--he's started doing this with dirt too.
~grunts when he tries to open things
~Makes car noises for everything
~PRO WALKER!!! (almost)
~Still doesn't talk. So I'm working on sign language with him. He's got 'more' and 'please' down. Working on 'all done' 'thank you' 'milk' and 'cookie'--you know. The important things
~When he wants his pacifier (because he doesn't talk) he pretends to suck on one
~Has the BEST 'excited' dance. Stomps his feet and does his 'ah ah ah ah ah'
~This kid LOVES to stand on things. Particularly dangerous things. He's a pretty good climber (up...not down) and climbs up to stand on things.
~I've stopped, but for a few days the only thing that didn't make him laugh at me while trying to discipline him was a mini swat on the bum (not hard at all) Oh he would get SO sad. He has the best getting-sad face.
~He likes to look at the world upsidedown through his legs
~He loves the trash can (and dishwasher, but that's beside the point) and likes to throw things away. If you come to our house and lose something...maybe look in the trash
~Got his 3rd haircut. Worst one. This kid is strong, and when he doesn't want something...it is almost impossible to make him comply
~Likes to through his food...and fork...and plate...and sippy...
~He always squishes his food with his thumb before he eats it
~When he is doing something and I give the warning 'Kayden' in a low voice. His eyes get really big and he starts shaking his head
~Started to make D and B sounds. Woo hoo. Now he says "mama" and 'dadadadadada and bababababa'
~When he coughs or chokes (but mostly just when he coughs) he throws his arms in the air. (When he is choking, we hold his arms up to open the airway)
~Growls (Sometimes at me)
~Sleeps on the floor. We say, time for bed and he crawls over to the floor by his bed and curls up.
~Got his first black eye. Poor guy. Thought the clothes on the rack at the store would hold him up...he slipped right through and got a black eye and ripped the skin on his nose. Never seen a kid with more scars at the age of 16 months. :)

LOVE these kiddos. They keep life fun!
